Ulla-Stina Wikander Exhibition Fall 2019... Press Release Coming Soon
Posted on July 13 2019

Ulla-Stina Wikander was born 1957 in Kungälv. She is currently living in Stockholm/Kullavik, Sweden and has been working as an artist since 1986. Her first solo exhibition at Paradigm coincides with CraftNOW Philadelphia.
Excerpts from her My Modern Met interview:
"Then my vacuum cleaner broke down and instead of throwing it away, I had this idea, that perhaps I should cover it with some of my embroideries. What would it look like and how would it affect the object? The vacuum cleaner was transformed into something else—a kind of art object." - Ulla-Stina Wikander
"All items and embroideries are from different flea markets and second hand stores. I visit different markets once a week. When I travel in Sweden or abroad, I usually visit the local flea markets and I have had lots of embroideries in my luggage during the years." -Ulla-Stina Wikander
