Drew Leshko, Miriam Singer, and Martha Rich
November 18, 2022 - December 11, 2022
We live in a society that is constantly upgrading and disposing of the past, something Philadelphia based artist Drew Leshko aims to preserve. With a skilled attention to detail, Leshko miniaturizes the places, vehicles, and machines he encounters into paper sculptures. Recent subjects have included a local strip bar, his grandfather’s 80s camper, iceboxes, and even dumpsters, all replicated to 1:12 standard dollhouse scale with accuracy in cut archival paper and wood. He highlights these symbols of urban life in hopes others can begin to appreciate their every day surroundings. Buildings that are in a state of decay or on the cusp of redevelopment are the ones that catch his eye the most, which he describes as architectural “relics”. -Hi Fructose Magazine
Leshko’s work has been exhibited in London, Berlin, Dublin, San Francisco, Chicago, New York City, Delaware, Detroit, Indiana, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Houston, and Miami. His work is included in the permanent collection of the Dean Collection (NYC), the Hosner Collection (LA), West Collection (Philadelphia), and Iron State Development’s corporate collection (Hoboken), Urban Nation Museum (Berlin), and many private collections throughout the country.

"Stink Eye Says"
Martha Rich lived the typical, suburban life - until she followed her husband to Los Angeles where, just short of a picket fence and 2.5 children her average American life unraveled. To cope with divorce, fate lead her to a class taught by painters and brothers Rob and Christian Clayton. They persuaded her to quit the pantyhose, corporate world, leave her human resources job at Universal Studios behind and become an artist full-time. She graduated with honors from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Her commercial clients include Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, Penguin UK, McSweeney’s, Portland Mercury, Y&R, Village Voice, Bon Appetit, San Francisco Chronicle, Henry Holt Publisher, and Country Music TV to name just a few. Her work has been featured in the Beck video “Girl” and a book Sketchbook Expressionism, featuring artwork from her sketchbooks was published by Murphy Design. Rich’s artwork has been shown in galleries throughout the U.S. and internationally. She is currently living in her hometown of Philadelphia and recently received her MFA in Painting from the University of Pennsylvania. Rich also teaches classes at Tyler School of Art.

About Paradigm Gallery
Paradigm Gallery + Studio® exhibits contemporary artwork from around the world with a focus on Philadelphia-based artists. Established February 2010, the gallery began as a project between co-founders and curators, Jason Chen and Sara McCorriston, as a space in which to create artwork, to exhibit the work of their peers, and to invite the members of the community to create and collect in a welcoming gallery setting. Now open 10 years, the gallery still aims to welcome all collectors, from first time to lifelong, and continues to support accessible work that welcomes a wide audience.
