ARTWORK NOW LIVE

It’s an off-beat, diverse community that travels the nearly 2,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail, the oldest long-distance footpath in the country. In "Hiker Trash," Sarah Kaizar captures, through her intricate pen-and-ink drawings, the character of the trail and its ubiquitous shelters as well as the array of hikers who find respite under those roofs. Kaizar, who thru-hiked the AT in 2015, is releasing this collection this fall with Mountaineers Books under the title “Hiker Trash: Notes, Sketches + Other Detritus from the Appalachian Trail” and is showing the drawings from this work for the first time at Paradigm Gallery.
